Gonna be in Myrtle Beach this weekend, probably going to bring a few rods with me. Never surf fished north of Pawleys, need some advice. Pretty similar to here? Same bait and rigs?
Thanks

Yes, the same.
If you don’t mind my asking, where are you getting your shrimp this time of year
From the seafood market. Just ask for med. Shirmp. If you keep them cold and don’t catch anything take them home and eat 'em! Have done it many times.
North pawleys aka midway inlet is a nice place to fish. You must fish at high tide because the water empties out rather quickly. Huntington Beach is also a good spot to Surf fish. The jetty is a great place to go if you feel like walking 1.5 miles from the parking lot. As for shrimp, you can get it at many seafood shops from Georgetown to pawleys.

Have done this many times. I’ll always buy more than I think I’ll need…it’s really nice if I can catch some whiting…then its fish and shrimp for supper ! I’ve never fished north of Surfside…I’d imagine its about the same…just more people on the beach.

Honestly anything north of Murrells Inlet is tough fishing. Little structure & crowded.
