NC Shrimp Baiting

Made NC Bait Binder deliveries today to East Side Bait & Tackle in Washington:(252) 946-2186, East Coast Sports in Surf City:(910) 328-1887, and Eastern Outfitters in Hampstead:(910) 270-2823.

These guys are currently catching brown shrimp over bait. Something to consider as all you need is a NC saltwater license and a knowledge of the NCDNR regulated shrimping sites. NC shrimp baiting is wide open.

Happy shrimping to all!

David, what kind of size do they see up there? Are they 30-40 count like our brown shrimp back in the creeks or larger?

Good work expanding and growing your footprint. I know you will see more success and deserve it.

Based on what the NC locals tell me, 3" to 4" is about the “average” for their brownies; with some occasionally larger. Apparently, brown shrimp account for more than 65% of NC’s shrimp harvest.

Thanks for the kind words!

I’m kinda stoked to hear about the good shrimping so far this early season…gotta refresh my Bait Binder stock and make some room in the freezer!
