can’t find minnows anywhere been trying to trap some all are real small any info on where to buy some or techniques on how an where to catch some. All the tackle shops at beach are out. Thanks for any help
Put your trap in a ditch that has some water in it at low tide. Don’t leave it too long as there are those who will help themselves–check it in an hour. Cheapest and easiest bait is a small can of cat food. Edisto Marina and EWT usually has mudminnows.
There is a small ditch on the side of hwy 174 near the Serpentarium where I often see people loading up on them. I think if you have cat food you can set your trap and have all you want w/in 15 min. Be careful stopping there for obvious reasons. You don’t want to get hit on that busy road and there is not much room to pull over

If the other suggestions do not work for you, shoot me a pm and I can have my kids get you some. I have a spot but its on private property. I really do not know of anywhere that you can just go to.
I do know the area around where Optiker is talking about holds a lot of minnows, finger mullet and shrimp (small) in store creek.

Any one of the Lagoons on the island holds the also. We rented a house in June on the lagoon beside jungle rd. and left the trap overnight and loaded up every night.

Try the creek on Whaley st.
Use a plastic zip tie on your trap. It will not keep people from stealing your minnows, but you will at least know if they did.
