Need help with knot ID

Hi;

My wife managed to pick up an obviously superb hand tied two drop rig while reeling in her line at FB Pier. I like the way the rig was tied and would like to learn what knot was used to create the hook drops. Attached is a pic of the knot where a loop goes out and the hook is attached.

Anyone know what knot this is? I would like to know so that I can surf for a how to step by step for it.

Thanks.

Just youtube 2 loop dropper rig and you will find lots of videos on how to do it. Save yourself some money too…

Dropper Loop? Tied this just now.

That be the knot, thanks.

That’s the knot to know! A spool of 25 lb mono will make you several seasons of surf rigs. When you start making your own surf rigs don’t go overboard on the lb. test mono. that you use otherwise the small hooks won’t fit on your dropper loops. 20 or 25 lb mono with tiny hooks are the way to go.

definetly a dropper knot. like the guys are saying 20-25 lb mono is perfect for most surf fishing. i even go up to 40lb flouro when targeting big rays. can still fit a mustad demon 1/0 circle hook on it. thats the only hook ive seen that will fit the bigger mono. that knot is perfect for and deep dropping from the boat.

I prefer 40 to 50 lb mono for the main line. Can absorb the shock of casting 3 oz or more and holds up well. I then make smaller traces with preferred hook and 20 lb fluorocarbon. Tie double surgeon’s knot on end of traces and attach to loop. Usually carry a bag of extra 5" to 6" traces. Easy to switch out small segment rather than whole rig and have to re tie.
