Finally filled the last piece of the puzzle to go fishing. Picked this up today @ the Myrtle Beach Boat Show. Decided to put cost aside and got what I would be most happy with. Other than outriggers (which I have a pair of) I think I got just about every option with this boat. '16 Sea Hunt Gamefish 25

Congrats on the new, sweet ride! I think I speak for everyone on charlestonfishing.com that we are looking forward to the upcoming reports, .
Thanks G2G…I’m speaking for myself by saying I will appreciate any and all locals who know the ropes offshore and train me up on Grouper and Snapper and trolling.

Like Bananas, I’ll update it next week when the boat is on the trailer behind my truck and the paperwork is all signed. Due to time constraints couldn’t do anything today as well as USAA wanting tax returns (self employed) for the purchase being over 60k. Gave them a deposit.

Congratulations! Good choice. Take your time and learn. Lot of good knowledge on this site and better to ride witha few good captains and pay for their fuel before you burn your own with little to show for it.

looks nice… needs another simrad evo2… like really it needs another one…
love the color:)
I think I can survive off the one. Idk that the other $3000 is necessary. lol. I survived on a Garmin 540s (I think) in the past. This is a minor upgrade in itself. However, if you’re offering the financial assistance on it, it REALLY needs another. Thanks for compliments Shark!

Other photos the wife took as I 'bout ruined my britches sweating the decision to pull the trigger well over the 60k range I was trying to stay under. Glad I did however. I think within a year or 2 I would’ve been unsatisfied. Atleast I know my wife loves me to allow me to spend the extra dough with her only concern being 2 motors is better than 1 and wanting me to make it back safely if one fails.

I don’t think I’m going to spend $$ trolling til April. But I definitely will be heading out for a bottom drop as soon as we can get a 2’ or 3’ LOOONGGG swell day. I’m
Not much for a choppy seas kinda guy. In the winter are the fish moving shallower for the bottom or will I still benefit from going 150’ vs 95’?

I had them add the structure scan. I’m thinking it’s the 12" Simrad and it’s tied into VHF. It has the Yamaha digital single screen display for the fuel burn etc. not sure if tied into Simrad, I would think no. Audio is 8 JBL speakers unless I’m getting it mixed up with another boat. Single vhf

It was a hard choice to make that big of a leap financially. Being 28, husband and father of 3, 2 of which are still very young, it was a tough decision to go big. Considering the other debt and financial obligations I have already but it just seemed to fit right to pay the few hundred extra on a payment now, to get a boat that will make me happy for a long time versus settling and not being happy a few years down the road. I feel like I made the right choice over going with the Sea Fox 266. The Sea Fox did not seem nearly as strong or well built as the Sea Hunt. Everything felt much more cheaply made in the Sea Fox.

What a nice boat! I like the abaco green and those new seats hopefully won’t get the dreaded blue spot that I and everyone else has with the older white seat cushions. I got a 27 last year and have been very happy with it. I wish I would have gotten the mezzanine bait well rather than the seats like you did. Good choice. Im far from an expert but some things Im glad I invested in are a good auto pilot(long runs to fishing grounds), Radar(fog!!!), life raft, epirbs, vhfs, delorme satellite phone and get the best transducers you can find and you are ready to have lots of fun out there. I grew up in Louisiana and have fished the gulf coast and the pan handle of florida growing up.Mostly inshore/near shore until this past year. Ive been amazed how few people fish offshore here so safety is paramount because often you are out there alone.Buddy boat, safety equipment, communication equipment, float plans…I guess the long run limits the folks going deep. This is a great site to learn the ropes and people here are very generous with sound advice. I bought the hot spots maps, the unique maps and used the dnr reef site to locate decent live bottom, reefs etc… Get yourself close to these areas and start looking around the bottom and you’ll find fish easily. Im sure you know this but Grouper season closed until may:dizzy_face: Lots of Seabass, triggers and vermillion out there though. One other thing you might consider. Even though I grew up on boats, I got my six pax license. Pretty easy two weekend course or you can even do it on line and the test is reasonable. Im a bit obsessive about safety for me and my crew(usually my wife) and I feel like the course gives you a decent working knowledge base to start heading offshore.Best of luck and let me know if you are heading out of Hilton Head any time soon.
