Congrats to Scott Cothran (Scouting for Goodies) and crew on a fantastic trip today…He asked me to post a pic. It looks like they broke the 20 year old Snowy grouper record. On an uncertified scale, the fish is over 35 lbs. They are trying to get it on a certified scale now (Georgetown).

SC state record is a little over 30 pounds. We caught one this summer that weighed in at 33 pounds, and we didnt know the record was that until he was on the dinner table

as far as the peanut gallery…you should correct the statements to represent…your lobby help motivated the congress to give the authority to regulators to do as they please, because if anything you were sold on the notion that only commerical fisherman and consumers would be affected and thats why you supported it fully.
Its all about data and the lack therefore of, if more existed, then there would be a clear picture, especially from recreational anglers. Ignorance of the facts doesn’t win out to adherence to the law and its constitutional nature. Maybe next time you will read in detail what you are supporting or not supporting. And question why this group I am part of is supporting this and what is the large view scope to the implemications.
Don’t blame the government, Obama, or Lubchenco (there was a meeting with the lobbyist after the rally)…blame the lobbyist, who are willing buying and dictating your future every single day, be it at the state or federal level.
Or you can go all conspricacy theory and blame the UN’s Agenda 21, chemtrails from planes, fema prison camps, and the NWO.

I had heard through the grapevine that there were 2 snowies caught over 30lbs.
But after reading, it seems that there has been a red flag thrown on the play and it is under official review…

After offical review from cf.com top fish identifying experts it is confirmed that the largest state record breaking fish was NOT a snowy. In fact it was a WARSAW. The largest snowy did not hold up on the offical scale to break the 30 pound 20 year old Snowy record. The unoffical scale is deemed to be just that as it was off.
Thanks for the post sellsfish. This is why you need to fish with me more often so that I keep these things straight.
For the record, thanks to help from Full Pull, Atlantic game and tackle, and sellsfish I know where these fish are hiding and am learning how to catch them. Hopefully we or someone on this site can shatter the record before they shut it down.

How many 30+ lb Snowies have you seen? Large snowies lose their spots. I guess you were able to count the spines on the dorsal fin in the pictures (10 Warsaw / 11 Snowy) other than that, they look identical. look at the new state record snowie from Va…looks identical to what S4G brought in.
