New tackle just waiting to use.

I bought new rods and reels. I did a lot of research over the past month and decided it’s time for an upgrade. I got 4 okuma cedros csx 10ft heavy 3-8oz rods. I chose them because they only weight 11oz and since I injured my neck again it’s time to cut down on weight anywhere possible. For my reels I chose the Shimano baitrunner 6000. I was going to go with the 4000 size to save on weight but they have a smaller handle and way less of a retrieve rate. A less retrieve rate will be more stessfull on my neck than the reduced weight of the 4000s. I also chose the live liner reels so I don’t have to twist the drag Everytime I can just click the lever. There spooled with 40lb j braid. Went with 40lb instead of the 65lb daiwa j braid this year. Also pulled the trigger on a flambeau waterproof satchel 4000. This is an organizing dream come true. I can cart all my tackle in one box fully waterproof. It also has 2 waterproof boxes below it. I’ve even got my shark fishing stuff and some bass fishing stuff all in one box.

I’ve also ditched my small Mazda 3 that was hard to load and unload my gear in for a Ford edge SUV. I can now keep my cart in 1 piece instead of breaking it down and taking the wheels off Everytime.

I have got another piece of fishing equipment that I’m super excited about being custom made for me in a couple weeks I will share what that is as well.

Tackle box is way cool,

Ya know, it must be nice living in Neverneverland. Remind me to come visit you, when I need a break from reality.

Congrats and hope the neck heals quickly. Okuma makes good stuff its just not popular here. The cedros are a little more tip sensitive than longitudes so be a little more careful with them. Excellent rods though.

Good to see you posting again Stevo. Those bait runners are nice reels. Good thing about them is they only have 3 bearings and if they take a dunk not so many to replace if they gum up. When washing off use a light mist and not a powerful jet style hose. Also tighten down the drag and less water will be pushed into them when washing that brings in the sand and salt.Back off drag to loose for storage always. Steve the reel tech at Haddrels really likes those reels. Solid buy. Hope you get well soon. Hang in there buddy.

Have to agree with 40 on the okuma stuff. I use alot off it. Very satisfied.

Steve,
Good pick. I’ve got 4 baitrunners that have been USED. Theyre not as smooth as other choices but they’ll last forever. I’ve been really happy with mine. Hopefully in a couple weeks you’ll pull in a monster red on one. Good luck.
