New to area

New to the savannah/hilton head area. It looks like the trolling reports are picking up and I want to “slay em” all! I’m used to fishing off charleston. Targeting all the top water species; dolphin, kings, hoo. Anyone got any ledges/wrecks/live bottom recommendations? Maybe some Gps numbers for those of you willing to relay that info. (I know that’s top secret!) I’ve heard of the sow pen and deli ledge. Anything else? Any and all will be appreciated! Some good bottom fishing numbers wouldn’t hurt either!

Welcome to the area and the forum… I’m not a big troller or bottom bumper so I won’t be of much help. There’s some good guys on her that might be willing to help you out a bit. Good luck!

The Deli, Sow Pen and Edisto Banks are all good. Not likely folks will give up their prime numbers, but your best bet is to pick up a Maps Unique grease chart for the Beaufort-Savannah area. ($40). These maps were produced originally by a friend of mine, Capt. Chip Berry, who formerly worked for the SCDNR Land/Water Resources Division. They were originally Loran C, but are now GPS (Lat/Lon) and show almost everyone’s not-so-secret holes. A great tool for someone new to the area.

Any body know if there is information on the Maps Unique that is not on the Top Spots off shore map for the area? Thanks in advance

i have the entire database of mapsunique on my chartplotter. a lot of the spots on the maps unique software are not exactly correct, due to conversion from loran. you may have to do some hunting around 2-300’around an area. at least it gives you a good idea of where the bottom is good so that you can start searching there. deinitely a good investment for a person new to the area, and he is a super nice guy to deal with.

^^^There ya go^^^
