Haha, kinda like the response I got from a DNR officer after he checked my boat earlier this year when I asked him where the reds were biting… He said “The mouth!” and sped off. But seriously, what kinds are around right now? anything of any size… big sharks yet? shoot, I wouldn’t even mind getting a big stingray off the bottom just for the fight.

i hate to say but sharks are just a nuisance. black bass at near shore and sheephead are about as good as it gets.

Well I respect you opinion. I am usually not much of a meat fisher because I am a meat hunter during deer season. So when it comes to catching fish, I just enjoy a good fight. It seems that sharks are the biggest easiest to get close to shore. With that response though, you make it sound like they are around the area, any bigger sharks around yet? or is it still just the smaller dogfish that are around? Thanks for the info

you can prolly catch some good sized carp
Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach him how to fish and he will sit in a boat and drink beer all day.
April and May are the best months at Edisto for sharks. Need some fresh bait (menhaden, mackeral, mullet) live and cut. Fish on the bottom from 10 to 40 feet. I’ve caught sharks from ■■■■■■■ cut all the way out to the Edisto 60. North Edisto from Steamboat to Deveaux Bank is good too.
If you get out to the reefs, squid and cut fish work well for black sea bass and other bottom dwellers. Fiddlers will catch sheepshead. As the water warms, spanish and maybe a king will show up along with some spadefish. Fresh shrimp will catch about anything. Good luck.
