And in no way am I being negative towards the angler. Was a great shark and a quick release. A good example for shark fishing. I just don’t see why it’s such a crazy thing. The news doesn’t cover someone catching say a red drum. Why is everyone so ignorant to think that sharks are not right up close where they swim. Don’t like danger go swim in a pool. The ocean is the most dangerous place on earth

saw the same article on other news sources and the peta police def showed up for comments even though it was get it off the hook, quick picture, and safe release. i have seen a local fox crew at folly lighthouse before but no knockdown when they were there and dont think id really need that much attention for catching a shark, but looking at the news stations point of view every time theres a shark story it gets tons and tons of views and a lot more interest than other stories. either way great catch for that guy! that wasnt one of your guys was it stan?

Well, what if he wanted to keep it and eat it? It’s easily over the minimum length. It’s very good if prepared correctly. The shark is a legal species to harvest.
