I live in the upstate so most of my fishing is in the freshwater. Which during the summer I spend a lot of time on the water at night. Are the inshore fish attracted to lights? Anybody have experience fishing under dock lights. I would think it would be about the same as freshwater. Only thing is will the tide current keep fish from staying around. I’ll be down this weekend and might try it. I’ll give a report if I do.
Trout and many other fish love dock lights. They draw bait, and bait draws fish.

Never tried it myself, but a friend of mine that transferred to St. Mary’s, Ga has told me he does well under dock lights at night with the trout.
Good luck,

Lived down in Savannah for most of my life there’s about a 4 mile stretch of river there thatis lined with lighted docks on one side…at 10 pm in the middle of the summer that river would have 15-20 boats up and down it fishing all the docks with llights…trout and flounder were theain catches…
I am guessing that speckled trout in SC eat about like the speckled trout in TX, and a big percentage of them are caught “under the lights” in TX. Most everyone with a dock has big lights set up to shine down in the water. Turn them on at dusk and go back a couple hours later and start catching trout. It’s so easy, even I can catch 'em.
