No Boat Slip!

Greetings all. I’ve been a passive reader of the posts here for Edisto ever since our first family trip down there three years ago. We are headed down again this week (Thursday through Sunday) and my father in-law wants to bring his boat (21’ Key Largo). Called the marina and nothing is available. We are staying in the Wyndham so we can’t keep the boat at the rental. Any other suggestions of whom we might contact? I’ve given him the option of me just bringing down my canoe, but the thought of no 225 horsepower engine bothers him I think. To be honest the weather this weekend doesn’t look like perfect canoe weather either. Since we are in Charlotte we don’t come down as often as we would like and I just don’t want to miss a chance to try at those reds and trout one more time!

If not are there any places to just do an hour or two of bank fishing…we’ve done the dock next door to the marina plenty, but wondering if there is something further in land on the island that we could drive/walk to?

I?d also like to say thank you for all those who post here regularly. This is one of the sites that continues to help me learn about fishing in a place I truly enjoy and dream that I?m there while I?m sure I should be working.
Thanks for the help.
Chad

sorry cant help you with a contact, but did you consider staying on big bay on deep water? Not sure if maybe thats not in your budget, but in the future that would be a great alternative. Plus you can’t beat the view!

Optiker…We have wanted to stay somewhere with deep water access for sure, but as with all things in my life right now budget is definitely a factor. Hopefully in the coming years those will be possibility for us.

Gail wins…Thanks for the reply. If we don’t end up bringing the boat we will probably consider a half day charter. I know there are some great ones down there for inshore.

I stayed in Wyndam one weekend, and they let me keep my boat at the condo/apartments they have on the right; right where you vere off to go to the point. Might call and ask them.

You are welcome to park your boat in my yard or drive way or the vacant lot next door I am in Wyandam and can understand your fustration. I came through the main gate last weekend and they ask me why I did not have a sticker on my boat I told them I was not aware of the need for a sticker so I now use the back gates, 803 682 3829
