My dad just retired and bought a bay boat,he is all about fishing charleston which is were we grew up taking family vac. Well in the past 6 years my family has been going to your neck of the woods. Its awsome down there wonderful creeks and bays. My thing is all the post are for charleston, so are you guys trying to keep this gem a secret or what. You guys have got to be doing just as good? Its hard to convince him to make it down that way. Anyway just curious its a great place down for family and fishing.

In all seriousness, I can understand your Dad’s viewpoint. I’m still new to ACE basin waters, but have a few years experience in Charleston, and the combination of better water clarity and known and familiar spots in Charleston, its easier for me to “catch” in Charleston. Learning new waters is a lengthy time and effort commitment. I don’t plan to be real successful at Edisto for at least a few more years.
Oh yeah, and Edisto fish have mercury…it dumbs us down
Internet fisherman and population density are a bad combination for solitude and peace of mind. If you come down and explore, keep your information to yourself…let the boys in Charleston stroke themselves and each other online.

I live on Murray and have devoted time to learning the area down there for the reason you stated, solitude. While I agree on the first part of comment, there is a reason why we are replying and why a picture was posted. If I do well, I will report and try and help someone else, whether on the lake or the marsh. Exploring is the fun part. But, if something on this site will help me catch more fish, I’m in. If you, or anyone else does not like sharing information, do not log on. Thanks.

I think I read that somewhere else. I understand why y’all are the way you are and the very same reason I head there instead of other areas 82, you are right, the fishing really ain’t the hot. Reason enough not to make the trek down:wink:.
