No red snapper again....really?

I agree with the no reports or pics part. Hell I say shut down the reports section. Let’s talk about whiting and spot fishing.

Just think about it,you assclowns been throwing em back for years…Inventing new and better release tools, buying release tools, making videos on how to use release tools when all you really needed was a bigger cooler.

The Red Snapper issue was contrived by Pew, back when they wanted to shut down ALL bottom fishing from 90’ to 240’ deep. They were looking for a species that needed their “help” . They settled on Warsaw grouper & speckled hind, with red snapper being part of their collateral damage. I never thought I would live to see fishery laws made to ass kiss enviro groups and prevent their law suits.

I thought this cat was responsible?

Okay, but he is the one with pen in hand.

Today, President Bush Signed The Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Conservation And Management Reauthorization Act Of 2006. By signing this bill, the President reaffirmed our commitment to protect America’s fisheries and keep our commercial and recreational fishing communities strong. This Act will end over-fishing in America, help us replenish our Nation’s fish stocks, and advance international cooperation and ocean stewardship.

Yes - he signed the law - BUT the science behind it ( from the “progressives” PEW data) was severely flawed and manipulated. Will you lefties blame Bush even after he’s dead? Obamba had plenty of time to solve this. The stock numbers are wrong for a multitude of reasons - There are no landing numbers. The fish in the MPA’s are not counted. The dead discard numbers are a wild assed guess. Also, Florida should have its own separate council. This is because of the SAFMC. You lefties cant blame Bush for everything. But its not the liberal way to accept responsibility

Obama has had 7 years to fix it… Why hasn’t he poly bolbie? Maybe if there were transgender red snappers to consider, it would have more urgency.

Also, the SAFMC constantly refers to head boat data. Where do they get this? All of the real head boats are gone - regulated out of business, The very few that are left (that I know about) are tourist excursion trips Doing 1/2 day trips on flat days catching pinfish and tomtates and near shore fishes.

Typical lefty…why look for a resolution to a current problem when we can pin the blame for said problem on someone that came before us and never fix a d@mn thing.

But hey, at least now grown men and high school boys can share a bathroom with our daughters. Effin’ asshats!

In the future, where every stranger poses a potential threat, knowing the predator mindset is the only safe haven.

Hey I don't want them to regulate the whiting fishery either.....(**() delicious

Too late on whitings and such…there is a new bag limit aggregate on whiting/spot/croaker, maybe 50 fish/person or so.

I think it was a mistake for them to put that show “big fish Texas” on TV. The recreational fishermen in the Gulf of Mexico can use that to fight for their rights to the fish. Right now The shareholders are all millionaires

How do they know how many fish were caught and released? I’m not sure if I’m just confused, but I just don’t understand how there will ever be a season if they use that math? There could 10x more fish down there than they think, but if you multiply the catches times the mortality rate it will show a massive mortality rate. The rate will only get bigger as the population increases.

I have heard from many people on this site that one data source is scouring our posts on fishing forums. Seems like a tedious way to conduct research but thats the govt for ya.

No. That is not what was said. What was said is that the use these posts against us to support their arguments about poor fish handling and mortality rates. It's pretty hard to argue that fisherman are responsible enough to handle fish properly (which is subjective) when they can come here and find pictures of people holding fish by the gills with blood streaming down on a daily basis.

You’re starting to figure it out.
It is not about a healthy fishery.
It is about a government bureaucracy feeling absolutely no limits.
