North Edisto Entrance

Has anyone been through the North Edisto Entrance recently? I saw a couple warnings on the Waterway Guide saying the shoaling had gotten worse. What is it like now and has anyone seen it at low tide recently?

Thanks

They just fished Bohicket, it can’t be too bad…

Where are you referring to, just outside the inlet on Seabrook side? Or between Deveax bank and Botany Island?

Wadmalaw native

That is kind of what I was thinking as far as the boats running through there for Bohicket. Here is a link https://www.waterwayguide.com/nav-alert/4-5633/sc-inlet-caution-north-edisto-river

I run out of there all the time- keep the green on 1 side and the red on the other and you are fine unless you draft over 10’.

There was an unlighted red can that is now missing- glad it’s gone, it was tough to see while running 30 in the dark.

If Jimmy can make it out in his shrimp boat, I think you’ll be alright.

I haven’t fished that area in several years, and if I were to go again without anyone that had ran it recently I’d stay strictly between markers and mark my path on gps.

That area changes as much as some change their draws.

The link you provided was from February, so pretty recent and no major storms since, but I’d still be leary of it.

I have been out between Botany and Deveaux Bank, about the same as last 2 yrs, I didn’t have any problems. Went out of N.Edisto early in the year with no problems

You can’t catch fish on a dry line
