First time surf fishing in weeks. 12:00pm arrival left at 2:00pm because trip got cut short. Birds diving, a super close color divide, calm current wind and waves. Nice muddy sandy water for like 50 ft and then pretty green water, by 2:00 it was all clean green clear water. I yaked out some mullet deep and casted shrimp and mullet medium to long cast. No action on cut large mullet or finger mullet but I couldn’t keep shrimp in the water. Fished the warm washout of a trough by some rocks. Spottail, whiting perch and trout. The trout was a surprise to me. Missed every good hit I had including what was a big red chafing my hook of at the knot. Today was a tester to see if it was worth it to surf fish still, it seemed like there was a lot of life around. Ill keep yaking and fishing for sure.
would the 80# white braid have something to do with missing good hits on 12" trout?

I thought we already covered this. White braid is invisible. Any pound test.
