Not 100 but close!

Hit Wadmalaw Sound at about 10 this am. Immediately got into 12-15 inch trout on the 1st of the outgoing on the first main river point I hit. Bounced around and found trout just about on every main river white sheel bar running perpendicular to the river channel. Started working the reds at about noon on the mid outgoing. Caught fish non-stop for 2 1/2 hrs in several spots. Ended the day with 40+ reds (14-34 inches) and 30+ trout (12-22 inches). Saturday should also be strong.

Good deal…we found the trout in St. Helena but the spottail were few and far between. I hope they group up over here soon. We would find one or two at a time but not in the usual spots. Still a great day on the water.

Had a similar day in charleston. Mostly trout. Est 100 fish caught today

No where your numbers but we had a real good day. Also caught bait for tomorrow and ate fish for supper. Getting ready to do it again.

Got my 100+ trout today along with 15-20 reds. Didn’t really concentrate on the reds as the wind messed up the water on several flats, but the reds ate TroutTricks intended for trout. All reds but 4 were WAY over slot with one 35 incher. Most trout were 12-16 inches but had a few 18-20.

So glad to hear that the trout have filled in down there! Hope they make it through this winter
Great job BTW. Your prediction is what led me to play hooky Friday so I thank you for that !

Went south yesterday and did lousy. Only caught 4 trout in 2 hours. Water was muddy and the wind was blowing. Should have changed areas but I kelp thinking I would find them on the next point.

Ended up with 100+ trout again today. I had to bounce around quite a bit, but I was able to find several schools willing to eat TroutTricks and Gulp! shrimp. Caleb and I could have pounded the reds but only stayed long enough on each flat to catch 4 or 5 then went looking for more trout in the same areas since they have been on fire. A few trout were 18-21 inches, but most of them were 12-17.

We did not catch a fish yesterday but enjoyed the nice weather on the water. We might try going south today.

Great weather today. Found trout in South Edisto. Caught about 30 and kept 4 for dinner. They are on the grill now. All caught on the chicken and silver mullet grubs. Did not catch any on live shrimp.

where are you catchin the live shrimp!!

Rad, I fished the same areas coming out of Toogodoo on Fri,Sat,2x on Sun&Mon and caught a good amout of trout but most were 11"-13" with a few 14"-16", what am I doing wrong on missing the big ones? and what’s with the crane over by steamboat, are they re-doing the landing? Its the most trout I’ve seen here in 10yrs, even kept 2 to eat yesterday!

You can’t catch fish on a dry line

boatpoor: I am catching the shrimp in a deep hole 30’. It takes me around 6-10 casts to get a couple dozen. Two other holes I use this time of year are empty. The trout are not hitting the shrimp Which puzzles me. Use grubs on 1/8 to 1/4 oz jigs.

Marsh-picker: They are replacing the fishing dock at Steamboat. Why they couldn’t wait until January to start, I don’t know. They really need to encourage more dock users to take up the few parking spaces at Steamboat. Gotta go, the tide is rising.
