Should be good… the dinos should be sleepin… I haven;t fished up there for a LONG time… I need to go check my old spots and see if they are still as good as I left 'em
No, Bushy Park is a terrible place. No fish there at all, and there’s lots of boats that get in your way. And skeeters and coyotes up in the grass, and billions of 50 foot alligators.
I’d love to join ya’ll, as I would really like to check out Bushy (even if there are no fish) but, I’ll be in Charleston sleeping on the Yorktown with a bunch of 10 year old scouts. Oh Boy!

Coyotes? Sweet! We can do some predator hunting while waiting for the fish to bite.
I’ve seen coyotes there several times in the past month actually. They always hauled tail when they saw me floating by though. They were up in the grass. You can see places where they (or, perhaps a gator or ten) have trampled down the grass. In one day, I’ve seen porpoise, alligator, and coyote, all from the same anchor spot lol. Bushy is a little unique.
Which side of bushy park are we gonna fish. Fresh or Salt?
Good question…and a good point about Bushy Park - there is a freshwater side and a salt side divided by the highway. I think it will be up to the individual to determine which side they want to fish! Personally, I want to fish the salt-side…the saltwater bite should be still going strong.
I’ll bring all the tackle. If I ain’t doing so hot in saltwater ill hgo catch some Largemouth.
What are the tides like? Is the salt side better downriver or upriver? I’ve been killing the Largemouth so its a tough choice.
What’s the thing going on at 7:30? Where?

The currents are not bad there… Well in a WS or Native hull they are nothing
Some things to think about… on the salt side when you paddle out to the river that is the fresh/salt diving line… Upriver (left) is considered “fresh” and you need a fresh water license… downriver ( Right) is salt and requires a salt water license… yes DNR has checked to make sure I had both before…
Downriver just around the bend starts the “No Stop Zone” and it applies to yaks too… They will roll up on you with .50’s just like a powerboat…
Don’t expect to get out and wade around… the banks out there are SOFT and nasty… plan on staying in the yak. At low tide it gets SKINNY out there… they are predicting a 1.1 low tide so we should be fine…
even though up river is “fresh” water I have caught my biggest redfish there in “fresh” water up to the left and around the bend across the river…
I might even make this one… close to home and I haven’t fished out there in ages…
Sorry guys, double checked the dates. I’ll be bonefishing on the Bahamas. Good luck to yall, I hope to see a report. Sucks ken, I was hoping to have somebody to throw feathers with. Good luck ! I’ll be at the next one

SOUNDS LIKE FUN. UNFORTUNATELY, I’VE BEEN SCHEDULED TO WORK EVERYTIME YOU FELLAS HAVE A MEET AND FISH. LOOKIN’ FORWARD TO JOINING YALL AT SOME POINT. GOOD LUCK.
For any fellow feather chuckers… BP is not a great place for flies… if you are out on the main river it’s fine but hose creeks get pretty tight… I am going to try and make this one… If anyone wants to swing by the shop I can show ya a few spots on Google Earth I used to fish…
