Fished from 7:30 to 11:30. Mullet was the bait today. Landed 3 nice Reds 36", 40", 42" a couple of big Ray’s, and some small Whiting. Cool and cloudy with NNE winds, the way I like it.
Nice job, sir.
Nice! Hopefully I can get out there next weekend! What stage of the tide did you do best on?
Very nice reds Mr. Parker
Was on the beach about an hour after low. Hooked the first Red within 15 mins. But if you are near an inlet, a full tide might be better. Right now these fish are keyed on 2 things…spawning and feeding. They spawn near the inlet mouths near high tide and cruse the surf to feed. I was setup with a point to my left and a big bowl to the right with a pretty good current running to it. My light rigs with 4oz pyramids would pull right into the bowl. I was making fairly long casts. Had the 13 footer with 6oz giving it a pretty good Hatteras pull and giving the 9’ all I could without loosing a finger.
"There's a fine line between fishing and standing in the surf like an idiot."
So it seems like you weren’t standing in the surf like a idiot. That’s a solid morning of fishing.
That’s great info thank you. Well give it a go Saturday and post any catches.
