Headed to Oak Island for the week next Saturday with my daughter and her husband.
I know they have a pier. Looking at Google Maps it appears there is beach access on the south end that would be a good place to fish.
Is there a ban on shark fishing?
Also, any suggestions on restaurants would be appreciated. We have a boat rented for one day to fish and take my daughter for her birthday lunch. Looking for a restaurant, in particular, where we can dock the boat.
Fish the oak island pier. Great fishing and never too crowded
Two piers on island , oak island pier and ocean crest pier, beach access entire length of island about every two blocks with exception
being east end at caswell beach only one that direction that I know of. Public access to beach towards light house has the best surf fishing areas imo , just look for troughs and structure …Don’t know if shark fishing is banned or not…
Several good places to eat on island but boat access with restaurant not much ,marina on west end has one ; you’ll need to venture over southport way for that. hope this helps a little, good luck !

I have made a few trips to Topsail, Bogue Inlet and Emerald Isle. I have been eyeing that area as well and most interested in visiting/fishing it some day.
You can shark fish on Ocean Crest Pier. I was out there last week and a guy was out there with some pretty big gear fishing for them.
