Obama Executive Orders On Guns

What’s the big deal about having to have a background check to buy a gun? Are there really that many people out there who are inconvenienced by having them call to check, or take a CWP course so you never have to worry about it. I don’t see what the big deal is.

I think, in general, Americans don't like to be on "lists". Lists that can be used for levy of future taxes, making you a suspected terrorrist because you own X guns or bought Y bullets, lists for confiscations, etc. Less Big Brother knows about you, the better.

Another meaningless scare tactic and assault on the 2A. Obama’s EO will have zero bearing or teeth in the real world other than incite those prone to panic. Obama is the best gun salesman this country has ever seen.

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn’t go so far as to call a dog filthy but they’re definitely dirty. But, a dog’s got personality. Personality goes a long way.

Of course they will, as soon as they (Democrats) have the presidency and both houses of congress the floor is going to cave in. These people are set on taking away our rights and arnt going to give up until they accomplish their goals.

Maybe not, even the liberals enjoy hunting. Especially the rich liberals. Got to have a gun and ammo to hunt. Actually got some pretty ethical liberal hunters out there… Maybe this is were we can make some common ground. Even Bolbie likes to hunt.

The hunters you are referring to are more like pictures in an orvis catalog… the administration is after the shooting/target enthusiast…

Man, not the orvis catalog…

But to take out the shooting/target enthusiast, the orvis crowd would have to go as well. common ground?

I don’t believe 5rd bolt action rifles, side x side / over under shot guns and maybe even revolver pistols would ever be targeted by the dems. They love to point fingers at high capacity semi auto rifles and pistols. I feel it is hot vs cold subject and you would hard pressed to find someone with political pull in the middle.

Do you pay attention? Hillary has said she would outlaw handguns if possible, and she is far from alone. It has since come out that even Nixon wanted them outlawed. The "inch and mile " saying didn’t come from nowhere.

I don't think they will abolish gun ownership as a whole. I think they primarily want "assault rifles" and high cap mags at the top of the list. I also think they would want a full gun registration and possible levy of new taxes on firearms. Imagine if you had to pay property tax each year on a firearm. I haven't heard anyone discussing this, but it's a logical way (in their mind) to reduce gun ownership of law abiding citizens.

I could see where they favor a system where they can track gun ownership (on paper) from original purchaser all the way through multiple sales, and impose huge fines or jail time for those that didn’t properly document a sale. And then, if were charged with a specific crime, etc, they would ask you to cough them up.

I have a 1947 Mosin Nagant, because that’s THE LAST ONE THEY’LL COME FOR BO!!!

So, say if a person has 300 guns, mostly collectors items and zero paperwork on them, how do they go about finding them and making them register the guns? There will be blood in the streets before they get people in this country to register their firearms. Since I was a boy, they’ve been trying some sort of ban, registration, confiscation or limitation scheme in this country. None of it has ever worked, nor will it. Guns and related industries are big business and it isn’t going away no matter what the political flavor of the month is.

This is more media driven political hysteria brought to you by weak minded individuals and those savvy enough to cash in on it. Obama, Hillary and the rest of the fear mongers don’t have the ability or guts to disarm the people. Especially in light of these homegrown threats and violent criminals on the loose. Their tactics are aimed at creating another revenue stream for the goobermint.

Yep, dont doubt for a minute that many politicians in the Democrat Party want an outright handgun, semi auto rifle ban. That they havent mentioned shotguns, bolt actions etc. is because they are lower down the list, once they meet their first objective they go after their second. These people are serious are arnt going away, the only thing stoping them is that they dont have all 3 branches of president/congress and supermajority needed in the Senate.

I don’t really understand why they are going after semi-auto rifles so hard, and not after semi-auto shotguns, which could do a lot more damage. One bite at a time I reckon. I’ll be well stocked up before that happens anyway. If they ever get into a door to door confiscation, it’s going to get ugly around here.

Threat of jail time and fines... If you knew you could go to prison for 5 years per violation and it's only a matter of time before your neighbor mentions your awesome gun collection, would you risk it? I wouldn't.

Many people have been turned in by pissed off x-wives for tax evasion, etc.

How much blood was on the streets when the Brady Bill passed?

Also, was there not a ban on assault weapons from 1994 - 2004? “Federal Assault Weapons Ban”…

I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again. I don’t own any guns, all my were sold or stolen.

I do pay attention but I think semi auto will hit the block before single action type revolvers. They would get more bang for their buck if the went for the category of semi autos.

People aren’t going to register guns, at all. Continually sewing the seeds of that is asinine. You aren’t talking about the Brady Bill, that entire bill was a waste of the paper it was printed on and everyone knew it then.

As to the ASB you allude to, I bought 2 Colt Match H Bar’s and 4 SKS not to mention the Garands from the CMP during that time along with 30 and 40 round magazines from LGS in the area I lived.

Gun registration is not happening in this country. Confiscation is not happening in this country.
