Ocella Creek or ICW

Heading down to Edisto this weekend for a wedding with a few buddies. I want to give it a try Friday in the kayak, and the surf on Saturday. The only spots/landings I’ve tried with a kayak is Ocella Creek. I went in february but had no luck. I always see posts regarding flats on the ICW. Can anyone shed any light on good potential spots (where to put in and which direction to paddle) - Not asking for anyone’s specific spots but I’m new to kayak fishing so just point me in the general direction and I can figure out the rest :sunglasses:

For ICW it’s Dawhoo landing. You can go either direction to fish. You might want to work the tide to your advantage for coming out - it’s pretty swift at mid tide.

I ended up fishing the incoming tide at the creek behind Botany. Caught 3 flounder all undersized on a poppin cork w/ gulp shrimp at the oyster rake near the first sandbar. Saw a lot of 3-4 ft sharks swimming around near the oyster rakes. The creek was full of mullet schooling. You could have thrown a cast net and had a net full. I tried fishing on bottom and caught nothing but rays, small sharks, and a few whiting in between. I had a great time and I will definitely try out that landing the next time!
