Oct 1 report: Bulls back off the beach

Fought off the king tides and a good bit of chop to bring in three nice Bull Reds to start the season.

All three showed that fight and aggresiveness you see early in the season. They came in at 36, 35 and 32.

Poor conditions off the beach forced us back early, but we will be back chasing them soon enough.

Nice!

Thanks for the report!!

Beautiful creatures, great pics, good day indeed.

Looking forward to the season greatly.

At least water depth and maybe structure please.

They were hitting squid. We put live Croakers on the bottom but not even the Sharks were interested.

Spot we fished is about a mile off the beach, and is normally 18-23 feet; yesterday it was 31. There is either a wreck or an old shrimp net on the bottom.

Hope this info helps.

Oct 3 thread update

Conditions continued to be tricky, but we returned to our usual spot and caught a nice 37 inch bull. Croakers were in abundance, but Whiting are thinning out a bit. Though we did catch three nice 14 inch Whiting that went home for dinner.

Go get 'em Fellas

Woohoo!!

Thanks again!!

I saw a single boat pushing through the chop a few hundred yards of EB this past saturday and Sunday, roughly in the same spot both days. Glad to see you got some good fish for your efforts in those conditions, it wasn’t all that comfortable from the beach! Nice work!!
