Oct. Surf Fishing info

Lived in Charleston for most of 8 years 4 of those US Navy, went to Nam on a ship from there.
Will be coming down to Edisto 2nd week in October. Will be Fishing the Local Beaches trying for Reds and anything else that will give some Pullage. Any information or tips on where to set up? Might try to catch a couple sharks off the South end beaches in the deeper water.

Thank You in advance for any and all help I may recieve

I think the best place, is go to the Botany reserve or refuge whatever its called now and fish at Frampton Inlet, not a bad walk at all and usually pretty good fishing there. Thats a good time of the year and a little bit of everything feeds there.

You can’t catch fish on a dry line

Throw your net on some menhaden or mullet. They are everywhere. Hook through the mouth (carolina rig) and fling it as far as you possbly can off of any front beach jetty at low tide. Make sure you have a 3-4 oz pyramid sinker to keep her on the bottom. Hang on when that bull redfish strikes. It is too much fun. Remove hook quicky, photograph, and get him back in the water. Repeat as necessary. Have fun.
