My friend Tim invited me to go offshore bottom fishing today.
His employees, Jack, John and John’s son Matthew went along. It was Matthew’s first trip offshore. Great weather, great seas. Caught more large Red Snapper in one trip than I’ve ever caught in my life.
Now, you arm chair fisherman, I know the season is closed for Red Snapper. After 21 years, I have figured this out. All were released along with the B-Liners. But what a trip. Plenty of big Black Sea Bass, Trigger Fish, Red Porgies, and Grunts.

Good report uglyduck. I haven’t seen any reports from you in so long I was wondering if you were out of town on vacation or something. I have been on honey-do turkey day prep for the last couple of weeks with no fishing but I plan to get back fishing hard this weekend. This is my favorite time of the year for inshore fishing.
