OK Coots...

since y’all claim we only discuss coots, here is something about Clemson to chew on.

Clemson picked up another valuable piece of the 2017 recruiting class early Sunday afternoon with the addition of 4-star wide receiver Amari Rodgers, but Rodgers might play a pivotal role with the rest of Clemson’s targets for 2017: he plans to start recruiting immediately.

A coot is a duck.

Down here is where a signature goes but they can confuse and anger some people so I don’t have one.

Please please please, don’t use urban dictionary as a reference for a definition of a word. Wikipedia is bad enough…but that #3 definition is perfect.

But to answer the question…"American coot. The American coot (Fulica americana), also known as a mud hen, is a bird of the family Rallidae. Though commonly mistaken to be ducks, American coots belong to a distinct order.

No problem. Clemson's athletic programs needed money back in the beginning, one of the ways people could donate was by giving them a share of their crops. Guess what they farmed? Taters.

Clemson success, as crazy as it sounds, is helping SC out to re-build. Since it is likely Clemson only takes 2-3 WRs the next cycle, opens up in-state players like O’Tre Smith to SC. I say keep reaching out of state for the big-time players, lets Carolina start to take back more of the instate players.

That's wonderful, only our little state just isn't a big producer of consistent 4&5 star recruits.

When the ducks would quit flying later in the morning on the rice fields in the Cooper River someone would holler “COOT SHOOT” and start driving their duck boats through the big rafts of coots in the fields. Thousands of them would fly all over and it would appear to be raining coots. It was lol

Do folks still do that?

God help you boy.

It’s like UAB recruiting against Bama.

My parents live on the Rice Hope Plantation rice field. Thousands of coots stay during the winter. It's awesome to watch the Bald Eagles dive bomb and catch a coot. I have been guilty of the above.

Who was jump shooting?

Sorry, I missed the “someone” part. Looking at it again I guess you could interpret it that someone drove through them to get them in the air, then surrounding boats shot them out.

Now you firing on all cylinders
Plus, in the day, coot shoots weren’t frowned on at all like they probably are now.

You do realize SC was winning the instate recruits up until around 2013 when it started to go downhill… But hey, think what you want. Only 7 instate offers to SC kids by Clemson, so keep on recruiting outward. Only makes the state easier to take back
