I know it is early, but I just wanted let anyone know that is interested that I will be visiting Hunting Island for a week in May and will be looking into the Cobia run. If anyone that knows anything about these wants to jump on board, just let me know. This will be a learning experience for me as the first time targeting them, but figured it was a good time to see what is going on, even if it is just to watch the other boats.
May 16th-May 22nd.
Might be a stretch, but always open to jumping on board an experienced anglers vessel as well.

No interest?
I will be fishing for inshore all this weekend through next tues.
My plan is to hit the river all day wed. to try to get a cobia. I have all the gear, bait, boat, etc. If anyone is off wed. and wants to jump in, I am sure an extra hand would be nice.
If not, look for the boat with one man trying to catch a fish, clear lines, and gaff to cooler alone.
Tight lines!

Be careful out there in a small boat. A 15 mph wind blowing against the tide makes that river right gnarly. Going to be blowing 15 or more at least until Friday.

Thanks Larry. I won’t be out there if it’s blowing. Esp. alone. I’ll stick to inshore around Hunting Island all week.
But if the stars align I will be giving it a try. I know you locals hate all of the out of towners. Probably going to be a zoo out there this weekend now that the cat is out of the bag, and also the tourney.
I wouldn’t even think of trying to fish out there this weekend, so midweek will be my target. Probably just be 100 boats, huh, instead of 400?

Not me, I’m an out of town local, an hour out anyway
Yeah, it will be real busy this weekend out there on the cobia rips. Good time to stay in the creeks and fish for reds and trout. Wind will lay down by the first of the week, hit those cobs on Monday.
