Well the weather really messed me up. Got out on Wed AM at the crack, had about 8 topwater strikes but no hookups, then got chased away by a storm, only to get soaked while loading the boat…
Fished Friday for about 6 hrs with RADDADDY. First time I have fished with him. Had a great time, caught a handful of trout on top. He had one nice one about 21". We mixed up the topwater baits. I threw a spook jr and he had a skitterwalk. They differ in both size and pitch. The skitterwalk definitely outfished the spook. This is opposite of what I have seen in Charleston, but the tendency might have changed there too. Havent fished in Charleston in a while. We fished hard looking for schools of reds and we saw only a few. I saw one roll and caught it on a sapphire shine gulp jerk bait. It was 26". I tagged it. Pretty slow day but good company and fun. All fish were released.
