Palm Coast, FL

Wifey and I are going to go to Palm Coast, Fl NOT Palm Beach. We are staying at Hammock Beach Resort. It’s about 5 hours south of here, and in between St. Augustine and Daytona Beach.

Just wondering if anyone has ever fished here or heard of anyone fishing here. Im going to be checking out some other sites, but figured I’d start here first. The goal is to fish early morning one day and let the Wifey go the Spa while I fish. Even if for just a few hours. We are going for 3 days, but I don’t think she would be to happy if I fished all day.

Thanks for any help. I will be going in mid June. Anyone know what I can expect as well to be swimming by?

been there twice but never fished while there…matter of fact I don’t remember seeing anybody fishing in the surf there at all! the ICW is not far away…
you should enjoy the Ginn Hammock resort, very nice place…try the water slide!

The Pompano should be there in good numbers right now. Sand fleas or clams on a double dropper rig, 1/0 circles or Kahles and 100-130g sputnik sinker should do the trick. Check on surffishingflorida.com for more info or for someone to fish with. Earl Johnson Park, Washington Oaks or MarineLand are good spots but any piece of beach will do.

haha, that’s crazy!! My girlfriend and I are going to Palm Coast/Hammock Beach Resort this weekend. Her parents have a condo there and we figured I’d be nice to get away for a couple days.

I’ve been there before and you need to watch out for the rocks in the water. At low tide it will be easy to spot good areas to fish. Last time I went, I was unable to get any fishing in. This time I’m bring some rods and sand spikes, so hopefully I catch something.

I’m going to call the local bait shops and see what’s running in the surf and bait of choice. I’ll update when I find something out.

Hope you have a great trip and land something big in the surf!!

jnail,

thanks for the post. please let me know how the resort is too. the place looks awesome on the site and got great reviews. we are staying in the main tower suite. all the rooms from the lodge, to the ocean tower and the main tower look great. i did hear that some of the rooms are offered as condos. thats awesome.

as far as fishing, i did hear about the rocks, but im just looking to wet a line. i like to shark fish a good bit, im sure there are plenty around, but wanna be careful of the people. i may just wake up really early one day and fish.
