I fished with my wife this past Friday and Saturday. We started on Friday at near low tide and easily caught bait shrimp on a few casts. Went to first spottail spot and found no one home, on to the second spot and found it occupied by another boat. So we headed out to St. Helena sound and set up for shrimp baiting. We made about four passes with playing around with deep hole net in rock creek between passes with no results. The water was clear and I did not expect much but was hoping for enough for supper but it did not happen. Tried for trout at near high tide and caught around a dozen smaller trout 11-14 inches. Weather was not near as nice as expected. Started getting foggy in the afternoon but still enjoyed a day on the water. Saturday the weather was great, partly cloudy, mid 80s and just enough breeze to keep knats away. First spot occupied by a boat, second and third spots no fish, third spot wife caught two 30" spot tails, 1 26", 1 22.5" and several 15-16". I caught a few fish too, biggest was 22" but she whooped me good this day but I got a lot points that I can cash in later. All fish were caught on live shrimp under a cork. Fishing has been off and on for me this year, some days are good and some are really tough to find fish.
You’r a lucky man to be married to his fishing partner! Glad ya’ll had some luck. was hopeing the shrimp were gathering in the deep holes! There are some good ones close to your spot!
Yes boatpoor, luckiest catch I ever made, definitely a keeper and in upper end of the slot:smiley:. Can’t believe she has put up with my crap for over 44 years.
