Penn Fierce vs Pursuit

I only get to fish 4 or 5 times a year for 2 days to week so I can’t justify spending a lot of money on gear.

I have 2 Pursuit 4000’s I bought as combo, the Penn rods are horrible. I have replaced both rods with ugly sticks. I have an ugly stick I’ve had for 30 years. Still functioning.

My other 2 combos are a Fierce 6000 and 8000. At the recommendation of someone here, I replaced the rods with Okuma Longitude, nice rods just wish they had a hook keeper.

Any way, to my question. I taken both reels apart to clean and lube.
The only difference I can find is the more expensive Fierce have a lot of eye candy. Is there really a difference between the them?

The Fierce has a FULL METAL body while the Pursuit has a graphite body with metal side plate. The Full metal body feels more durable and has a better feeling. I saltwater fish a few times a year and I have a fierce 8000 and a fierce II 8000, each on 12ft heavy rods. Caught a 4ft+ black tip with the Fierce and it held up perfectly.
