Pier on Weapons Station near NPTU

Anybody ever fish this pier? I’m thinking about taking some live shrimp and mud minnows down there Saturday.

If it’s a pier where there are Naval boats near by, it’s probably off limits. Anytime you ride in the vicinity of a boat or sub, you get followed by a boat with a huge turret on it. Once we were fishing right by the boundary sign, closest to 526. No more than 5 minutes later a boat rolls up warning us to leave. I guess they have cameras or sensors out there, because we weren’t actually even close to anybody else.

if theres not a ship docked and you have a base pass i caught plenty of reds, trout, and flounder at pier A and B. you can also pick up sheephead, black drum, catfish, and various trash fish too.

Dont get caught without the pass. They have have been cracking down hard on people without one. You also have to have a SC fishing licence as well.

lol that turret isn’t that big :stuck_out_tongue: just a 240B. I’m an MP on base, currently an armorer, and issue those boat patrols their guns. I can’t comment on the sensors but its not in your best interest to fish within the restricted area. I’ve fished on base several times and no one has ever asked me for a base fishing license. Most patrols don’t even know you’re supposed to have one! They aren’t going to fine you. They may recommend that you should get one, but thats about it.

I’ve fished out there several times now and have had no trouble at all. Great place to crab. Managed to get 12 in just over an hour and all were around 7".
