hey guys first time poster here, i usually just fish in the surf but thought this would be a useful link for everyone (since it was soooo windy yesterday).
http://windalert.com/Search.aspx
they have their own sensor on the pier and 3 others around the immediate charleston coastline that are great for people on the water since most of the other wind/weather websites are either model generated or contain wind monitoring sites which are poorly located and not quality controlled. i think you have to be a premium member to get all the good stuff (of course) but still useful even without all their proprietary data.
Anyways now for the report, got to the beach yesterday only to see my usual spot and everywhere else on the front beach was all stirred up with a strong SW wind. I was my day off so i was not to be deterred, and i drove to the E or N end to be a bit out of the wind. better conditions up there with a offshore wind but i never really do any good up there and the streak continued. dirty water, 4hrs incoming tide, shrimp on the bottom, 1 16" flat fish. The one flounder was my only bite (hit it on the reel in). very slow, but i am sure when the wind slows down the beaches will pick up. good luck everyone hope the link is useful!
