I got off work this morning, and since I couldn’t sleep, I decided to make good use of my time. I went to Pitt St to see how the fishing would be.
I got there around 7am, and it was low tide. I didn’t feel like using bait this morning, so I used soft plastics. The bait stealers kept nipping at the tails, but I didn’t have any luck catching them in the act (and with my hook). About the time the tide began to turn, I switched to my ultra-light and put on a 1/16 oz jighead with a 2.5" white paddle tail grub. I let it drag the bottom and caught two flounder in the 8" range. Small, but I never complain about catching anything!
I guess I need to head out there when it’s high tide and try my luck. Maybe the big boys will decide to make an appearance.
