Does anyone know if the pier is open? If it is not can anyone give me another place to crab and fish for flounder?

Should definitely be open. Was there not too long ago.
The old Pitt Street Bridge is always open, 24/7 unless it is closed for repairs/improvements.
It is not a park…no fees, no permits.
Great place to fish from shore for children/youth/adults.
On an incoming tide, go to the 5th old bridge support on the left. Cast a MM on a Carolina rig at the point where the creek splits from left to right, right at the point, within 3 feet of the grass, drag more slowly than you think you can back…over sand bar…catch flatties…have fun.
