Places to launch kayak from

We are staying at Edisto state park for a week & a half later this summer and I was going to bring the kayak. Are there any boat ramps or other places to safely put in that hold fish near the area? Looking for somewhere where there does not have real strong currents or a lot of large boats.
Not very familiar with the area…
Thanks guys.

Only a few around all together. Marina on Big Bay Cr is swift but, No Wake Zone the whole way. You can go up Scott Cr(long paddle) and be good or out up Mud Cr on right on way toward big water(close).(Fee?)
Live Oak(St Park) most swift one there but, real close to Scott Cr($10fee)
Ocella Cr throw in up at Botany Bay. Follow map from Kiosk. It’s a throw in only. Nice creeks that flow out into N Edisto. Water normally clearer up N end. Haven’t tried it yet but, looks sweet.
Dawhoo River ramp at bridge. More big boats but, lots of creeks off ICW. Pretty strong tide.
Steamboat Landing- several nice creeks near by. Some big boats but, not a lot of boat traffic.
You could throw in on Rock/Sand Cr or some of the smaller creeks past Dawhoo off the side of the road with a yak. They all feed back toward ICW or back toward Steamboat.
Check a map and you can find all these. I fish out a jon boat and normally go to Steamboat. With a yak I would for sure try Ocella and next best Steamboat.

That is some straightforward good info…

I wonder if you couldnt throw a yak in at the post office restaurant

I looked at that & looks possible. Only strange thing is the 2D view looks like construction area each side of the bridge but the road view doesn’t show marsh there.

The next 2 roads to the left past the post office had a boat landing at the end of the road. Also you could go down the post office road almost to the end before you get to D.D. Dodge’s place, there was a dirt road to the right that went to a small launch. I’ve hunted all those woods around there back when the post office was an actual post office and country store.Thats where we all met up on Saturday mornings.

I am not seeing the landings you mention.
Not sure if it is the two roads north or south of the post office. I looked both directions & still did not see them two or the other one on a dirt road??

The 2 roads on the left just past the post office traveling towards the beach. These are dirt roads also, sorry I forgot to mention that.

Had Phillip over for dinner last Saturday. Next time he said he was cooking. There were instant requests for veal Edistonian and the flounder.

Try Steamboat Landing. Tides are always an issue in this part of the coast. It usually runs faster on the middle 1/3 of the tide cycle.

Thanks for all the help guys, really appreciate it.
One other question yall might can help with.
Last time we came we walked the beach from the state park to shell Island (Jeremy Inlet). Had a great day of fishing & the wife racked up on shells. Would love to do it again this year but with the little ones we have now & the heat not sure if that long walk will work out. I see on Google maps there is a road (Lost village Trail) on the opposite side of the inlet that turns into a dirt road & runs up against the inlet & then out onto the beach. Anyone know if that is a public dirt road that we could park at the edge of the beach on & fish that side?

All up that way down from George & Pinks and Frampton and off Jeremy Ck off Botany Bay road to right is private as far as I know. Lots of gates and private driveways. I don’t think there is anywhere just open for public parking and beach access.
