Pomp on the IOP Wednesday

I had an appointment this morning so I figured I’d take the whole day and do some fishing. Fit to my spot at about 930. Winds were from the S SE at about 10kts and the water was about 1 to 3 ft and active, nothing unmanageable. Had bought some of the fresh shrimp from HT. And thought I’d change it up a bit, putting #2 hooks on my red/shark rigs. Ended up paying off, 6 whiting from 8 to 12 inches, a blue and my first ever pomp. Everything but the blue came home. Got peed on, had thunder and lightening up toward the Wild Dunes then the sun came back out, the tide was in and the waves and current were severe. Couldn’t keep my lines in the water even with 4oz sputnik sinkers. All in all a good day. But until these storms that are pushing the winds north pass the incoming and high tide will be terrible.

Great job on that first pompano. They are good eating fish. I’m shut down this weekend and am giving it a break, It’s family time.
