Amidst all the confusion from yesterday’s injury, we caught a really nice Pompano. We have caught a few small ones this year. Years ago, we caught lot of them. Maybe they are coming back. I hope so.
Nice, I sure would like to see them like we did 40/50 years ago thick in the surf!

Haven’t been this year, but last year off otter island got a few in the shrimp net, big enough to get a little taste of meat. Have got them sporadic, but last year more than ever. Something bringing them back. 
When I was little used to get tons of sand fleas pretty much anywhere on Edisto in the shore line. I think the best bait available for a pompano. Haven’t seen any after all the re-nourishment projects.
