I fished folly beach near 17th. I caught an 8" pompano. It’s been about 10 years sence I’ve even seen one, any one else catching any. To be honest I thought it was a little early. Also caught a 5’ bonnet head off cut crab and a bunch of whiting. Sorry about not taking a picture.

A 5’ bonnet would be a record! Bummer you lost out on that fame. Think the current record was 51" but I forget the weight.

It does seem a little early for Pomps, they usually like warmer water, 75ish. I usually don’t see any untill summer is kickin’. And WOW! 60" Bonnet! Make sure you don’t have a metric rule

It didn’t even strike me as being a record bonnet. (**()it I’ll have I get some pictures up from my buddies phone.
Hey lunker, we are’nt beatin’ you up on your Bonnet report, just knowing the state record of like 27lbs. or so, that was probably not 5’ long, if your an average sized guy, that’s from the ground to your neck. Was probably more like 3 1/2’. Keep your lines in and the reports coming!
You guys are great. My friend that was with me caught it. He’s about me height and it was from his ankles to he’s neck. I’m going Monday night out to folly to see if I can’t get some more.
