Why is it so dam hard to find those things? I’ve never caught 1 and I’d really like to but I guess I’m not lucky enough. Any tips on how to locate these little suckers?
what are you fishing with? I’d think if you’re not fishing with sand fleas you’re not targeting them.

Fishing with shrimp, never been able to find the sand crab/fleas
use a small yellow or orange bead on the line touching the top of the hook. They love the sand flea eggs Fish in the suds. Fishing is not all luck - its mostly knowledge. Happy Trails!
Thanks fellas, I’m gonna give her hell until I get one!

We caught several last month on small pieces of bloodworm fishbites. Blue package.
Nobody mentioned but you want clearish green blue water you will rarely catch them in yoohoo
I have had luck with them on Fishbites. They make a sandflea flavor but I usually use the crab flavor. They hang out in areas with lots of surf and water movement. They are targeting sandfleas that get carried out by strong water. I ususally get them on the top hook of a bottom rig. That being said I still dont catch alot of them. Most I have gotten is 3 in a full day of fishing.
Daughter got one that was about 13” and I caught 1 that was about 3 inches lol
Saw a really nice sized one caught yesterday off the rocks near Edisto Access 30.
I’m in the same boat as you cannot catch a pompano. I was recently down in Myrtle and froze a few hundred sandfleas and going to give those a try here soon. I also seen and read alot of people using fish bites on a pompano rig with floats by the hooks.
I’ve only caught one on the north end of folly. I was out of bait and put small pieces of a culprit bass worm on a sabiki.
Small pieces of peeled shrimp on a light Carolina rig vertical jig the rock tips when wading or stand in the water and fish parralel to the beach. Fishing parralel to the beach from the water allows your bait to fish a larger area of the target zone. Let the Carolina rig roll around freely but have enough tension to feel a hit. We’ve had an above average run of pompano this year.
I’ve caught three so far this summer off the north end of Folly. Been fishing a double dropper rig with 10lb fluorocarbon droppers, a small red/orange bead above a small chartreuse float above a 1/0 red Mutu light circle hook. I use head on shrimp, peeled, cut to about a thumbnail size chunk. Caught a 2.5 lb one last Sunday this way. Thought I had a little Blue at first. Boy was I surprised!
