Possible changes to Deer Management Laws

corn for deer is the Chee- tos and Tahitian treat meal.

protein feed for deer is the beef, kale, green bean, sweet potato meal.

for an even bigger bang,we add feed soybean to the pellets Jan-March.

corn in the program now is mainly produced for the doves-ducks.

Bang, Poke, Warbler, at least we do agree on some things.

I think we all know corn doesn’t supply what’s needed for big antler growth. Don’t forget the 50 pound mineral/salt blocks are a lot cheaper at the feed store than the little high priced “specialty” 2lb ones sold in the sporting goods section.

been using those for years fred. had some out for our angus and found the deer using them at night so they started appearing in my swamp

I’d take it one step further and say corn doesn’t supply what’s needed for antler growth, skeletal growth, or muscle development.

I also agree that the good old salt lick is nothing more than an attractant as well. Attractants are used to benefit hunters, whereas year round feeding programs and maintaining food plots year round, while the hunter does ultimately “benefit” from them, are for the betterment of the habitat and wildlife. Also, be sure to not overlook fertilizing natural browse.

No matter how much it hurts, how dark it gets, or how far you fall…you are never out of the fight.

Not your typical “salt” lick. I’m talking about the Brown Salt/mineral block. Very beneficial.

I believe this bill passed the Senate yesterday.

Earn it everyday

If there must be trouble, let it be in my day, that my child may have peace.

Bill is headed to the House where I am sure it will be bogged down like a Ford in mud…the last thing written in SECTION 8 (if passed of course) is “This act takes effect on July 1, 2016.”
I guess we have to wait another year for progress
