The dog and I headed out to the beach to see if we could round up a few. The South Carolina summer is in full swing with heat index well above a hundred on Friday and Saturday. The air was so thick it felt like you could cut it with a knife. Thank God the wind was blowing, otherwise it would have been unbearable. Friday we did better than Saturday putting up 4 reds, a bunch of whiting, a few small sharks,a couple rays, and a handful of blues. Saturday we fished a different spot and targeted larger sharks with the heavy gear, and weren’t so lucky. We ended up catching a mess of small black drum and whiting on the bait rods which kept us busy. I think I am getting old, we are plum wore out. Take a close up of the snake picture, It had some beautiful texture and color on it. Bait of choice was shrimp on a #2 circle owner hook. Those little owner hooks are stronger than one would think. Good luck out there folks.
Good indeed.
That’s a nice Kingsnake too! Very good to have around.
Nothing wrong with that.
