Prince George 6/6-6/12

Sorry for the late post, but have been super busy and didn’t have a chance to write this.
June 6 headed up to a rental house on the beach in Prince George with my dad’s side of the fam and a friend. Our house overlooked Pawleys Inlet and immediately I could tell we had an awesome location. Saw tons of bait and it didn’t take us long to start fishing. Caught a ton of Atalntic Bumper and Menhaden in the cast net, and got about a 3 foot sharpie.
June 7, up at 5:30 for an all day trip on the New Inlet Princess. Got the usual mess of bottom critters and wound up with about 30lbs of fish between me and my friend.

June 8 was my friends last day, we decided to fish hard. First lines in around 8, had a ray on the big rod and a rudderfish head on each of the smaller rods. Nothing happens until about one when I’m inside eating lunch and hear that Thomas just broke of a big fish on the 30 with the ray. I went back out but obviously it was too late and now we only had two rods out. Waited again until 3, getting anxious, when the senator 4/0 clicks out And starts going. I hand the rod to Thomas and pretty soon he’s calling for me to get the harness. 15 minutes later we see our bait, hooks and spider weight dangling in midair. After a moments confusion I realize that whatever broke off earlier had become so tangled in the spider weight that he couldn’t get away. After a tense 5 minutes we have our first ever tiger on the beach at 82".

June 10 Thomas has left and now I’m more or less fishing on my own. I got up particularly early to make up for my lack of fishing Tuesday (bad weather) and immediately was gratified with a school of big ladyfish busting tinsel mullet on the inlet. Caught a couple for bait them moved to the surf where I TORE UP the Spanish, blues, and ladyfish. I caught well over 25 just casting a spoon in waist d

Excellent report and congrats on the tiger, love seeing those Spanish
