Do y’all have a water filtration system prior to your hot water heaters? They seem to drastically reduce the calcium and other minerals
LOL … our potable water is terrible! Process water even worse.
Now that would be doable for me. thanks for the response. I was wondering about the 150 smoking… That would be a cold smoke. I’ve done some fish at that temp and one day want to try the 150 cold smoking thing.
Stump, I’ve got to ask being the sparky that I am. why are the contactors bottom fed from a bottom fed power distribution block at the bottom of the power panel? I’m use to the opposite where the line side is up. I guess it doesn’t matter it was just an observation.
Anywhoo, I had similar contactors on a melting tank at work have the contacts weld together and couldn’t stop heating up so it also blew. is that what happened to yours?
Those are solid state contactors which dont have a line/load or polarity. They are ‘upside-down’ so the wiring is more cosmetically appealing and install friendly. Imo.
And yessir, thats exactly what happened.
Thats funny right there. I think the main reason they do some of it is to save a few dollars per unit on the wire. Just about every factory control panel I
ve seen pushes it when it comes to overload protection especially ac and heating.
Corner cutters get raises… ain’t that some shat…
Just something to think about.
This is becoming pretty common along ocean front condos/ hotels…
I stayed the night at the round Holiday inn couple years ago. Seen several things. I would never stay there again.
The big thing they have the balcony door screwed shut. Apparently the balconies are not safe. All these components are tied together. If one of the components of the building are compromised it affects the structural integrity of the whole building.
In your professional opinion why are there structural issues with buildings? Is it because we live in beach sand environment? Are buildings from past era having the same issues?
A lot of our buildings along the beach are pushing 40 and 50 years old. That being said we have done some major repairs on buildings nowhere near that old…
The balconies in the picture had 5/8 rebar. Some of the rebar had rusted / deteriorated down to almost a quarter inch. What really accelerates it is once the rebar starts to rust it will cause the concrete to spall. Allowing more moisture/ saltwater in. Concrete is very porous so over time rebar will degrade.
That’s why it is very important for good waterproofing systems.
Bonding grounding wires?
Never seen that before
Cool!
Little disappointed. I was expecting a little more. The way the guy was hiding behind the transformer.
Cad weld. I’ve done hundreds if not thousands. Lightning protection protects, building grounds, refueling pads etc. They make all kinds of molds. Once had an Army Corps engineer wanted me to weld aluminum to steel. Told him it wasn’t possible. He told me that they were doing it in Switzerland on a submarine. Had to tell him this was the US and we were not building a submarine.
Was working on a dirt track car… Old boy was trying to weld some brackets on the bumper… why can’t i get this to stick he asks. I didn’t give him too much grief, just said you can’t weld steel to aluminum. Had to break out the magnet to show him after he did not want to believe me.
How many does that make now!! Nice.
All federal projects that have to have trees cut will have to cease by Aug. 30 and then an extensive study will have to be done to see if any Endangered Long ear Bats are present. If anyone has been near I95 & 26 you’ll see a big difference. So far about 300 loads with maybe a 100 more to go.
some scrap tops getting pulled to loader. Surprisingly large wood from this cut.
