Ramp at Bennetts Point

Anyone know about the ramp at Bennetts Point ? Coming from Aiken and looking for a good place to put in to run out to the Combahee Light to fish for the cobia w/o having to drive to Beaufort or Edisto.

Thanks

I think it is a pretty good ramp to launch from. I put in down there a good bit during duck season.

Ramp is fine any tide for getting in and out. Mid-tide the water will be ripping. Fun putting it back on the trailer without good bunks and guide ons. It’s by far the closest to the light.

Good ramp and there’s a bait store literally right beside the ramp. Be careful putting in or taking out as there is usually a Shrimp boat docked right beside the ramp and if your not fast the current will push you under it faster then you can say @#@#.

You might try Field’s Point landing off of wiggins road. If you go to B.pt. watch your depth at low tide there are a few sandbars on the way out.

Good Luck!

Bennetts point is as good a ramp as you’ll find anywhere only 6 miles to Combahee light. you can launch a 30 footer on low tide.

I’d suggest bennetts point. the sand bars arent nearly as bad there as fields point. its a nice ramp and its busy there so you dont have to worry about your rig. just isnt alot of parking. fields point is in the woods and there usually isnt anyone around.

liquor in the front, poker in the rear!

The landing at Dawhoo going to Edisto is a good landing with floating dock,25 to 30 minute run to Combahee light.

You can’t catch fish on a dry line

Good ramp. Great people!
