Seems like rentals have increased in price? Was looking for a rental for week of September 12th thru 19th. Can anyone suggest a contact that may be willing to rent their place at a reasonable weekly rate? The places I’ve checked with exceed nightly rates of a motel in neighboring towns. Would prefer to stay on the island so we can get breakfast at the Seacow! Thanks for any replies.
Have you checked with the State Park? I know that it’s not on the island, but close enough to drive to the Sea Cow.
I think the rates go down around the 15th of September. Look on Edisto Rentals website. Down here now and the bite is on!
Used Edisto Rentals last in May & tried again last week but prices are out of budget range now. Last year I dealt with a condo owner directly & got a reasonable deal. I thought someone may have a referral on this site. Thanks for the replies.

Thanks for the replies. We found a reasonable renter and will be down there 9/19 after the 650 miles trip down from Maryland. We have fallen in love with Edisto and are planning on retiring there. We have grown up in the Chesapeake Bay region which has similar features as far as water access without the gators. We want to get away from the long winter season and some of Maryland’s regulations. I’m a part time commercial crabber and would love to chat with a local about crabbing and shrimping. I met a couple fellows at Steamboat Landing last year and we chatted about it. Soon to be southbound!

I hear ya Skipper, it’s sorta like seawater. I guess we’re all looking for that land of use to be. We used to be the “Land of Pleasant Living”. Like some, I remember when we new all our neighbors, helped out when they were in a jam, life was much simpler,…you know the story. I guess home is where you wanna be and I believe Edisto Island is that place.
Have you ever tried VRBO! Have used it in the past to find a place at Bulls Bay. Worked well for me! Just google vrbo edist island!
