Whats up everyone?
The Requiem team is currently going through some changes. Stan got a new promotion, but asked me to do some recruiting until his schedule frees up.
We’ve had a few guys move out of the area and others finding new interests that keep them from away the beach. This means we will be taking the rest of the summer looking for potential new members on the team who would be able to participate and help make the 2017 season a successful one.
For one, we’re excited about the potential of next year’s Big Hammer Challenge shark fishing tournament that will see FL, GA, SC, and NC compete head to head in multiple categories. In addition, we are participating in several scientific collaborations with SCDNR that will kick off next season.
We also have our 501c3 non-profit organization, Coastal Shark Tagging Initiative (CSTI), that we started this year that might also be looking to add some talent to. More details later.
So…what we’re looking for:
-
Local active fishermen. We fish heavy during the weekends, so we’re looking for members who can consistently participate either Friday and/or Saturday evening into the early morning.
-
Gear. In one instance, gear is secondary to participation. In the other, the minimum requirements for BHC in SC is probably a 30-class reel. There is a balance, and Stan is very talented in helping people find gear at reasonable prices, if needed.
Bonus Points:
- Able to bait fish during the week for ray, cownose, or sharpnose.
- Additional skills: photo/videography. Website design. Mobile app development.
- Willingness to cold-call potential sponsors.
- Personally, I’m looking for someone who also hunts hogs/deer locally. I’d like get into it for something to do when the sharks are not around.
Reach out to us on Facebook (www.facebook.com/requiemfishing or www.facebook.com/coastalsharktagging) if you’re interested. I’m usually fairly quick at responses.
Thanks,
