Was at the Apache pier in Myrtle a year or two ago and people were targeting ribbonfish with a set up that included a light stick and I think pieces of shrimp. They were doing well with the targeted species.
Anyone here targeted and caught ribbonfish off IOP or Folly pier?

They feed more at night and are visual action feeders. I caught a bunch the other night throwing a mini mirror lure in the shiny white pearl color. I wasnt at either piers but i was on a dock and o fished the incoming around hightide around bait and structure and lights. I fished like 7 to 9pm and had like 2 strikes 1 catch until 8 and then it was a a couple hits a cast at like 9. I left and the bite was on fire but they fight like wet tissue if you put any pressure on them. If you lite line them they will jump and tail walk like a sailfish. I was trying to catch trout, ladyfish, bluefish and reds. The biggest was about 3ft.
Fished the tourney at folly today. Did see a guy bring up a ribbon on a gotcha.
