Ole Ron must be in heaven right now.
Ron Morris is a biased media hack. He let his true hate for Spurrier shine through in his terrible coverage of the Gamecocks. Loser.
Oh yeah he is very biased. And I’m sure that bias went deeper after Steve got him fired.
On another note here is a good article by Chris Low.
You people don’t get it, he dicked you in classic Spurrier fashion. He quit, he quit the fans, the players and the University.

What does that have to do with Ron Morris comments? My opinion of Ron Morris has nothing to do with Spurrier’s abrupt departure. He is not mad at him for leaving he just hates the guy.
Salty is just showing how much he lives and dies around the USC program. Doesn’t matter the topic.
And no one knows if he retired or was asked to retire.

No, Ron Morris’s comments are spot on. Spurrier *****es about Wilds not playing and other players being unhappy, throwing them under the bus. Well, he just did exactly what they were doing only bigger. He quit, it was a dick move no matter how it went down but, I doubt Tanner forced him out.

So you and Ron are using your dislike of Spurrier to frame your argument and speculate. He had donated huge sums of money to the University since he has been there, hardly a “me” type move. For all we know he sat down with the AD and others and they decided this was the best move for the University to go ahead and bite the bullet now and let the process begin. Couple of weeks ago you were saying he would never walk away he would be forced out. I am not saying that this is the case because again I have no idea and neither do you. I will wait for more information to come out before I decide to make ignorant comments like the “professional” journalist.

It was a dick move common (see UF) with Spurrier. The going got tough, team’s not good and he was going to have a losing record, he quit. Those kids in the locker room, good or bad are there to play for him, he abandoned them. You fans grew support and enthusiasm due to him, he just quit you too. He should have had the guts and fortitude to stick it out for the rest of the season.

For some odd reason, I feel like I have read this story before…
Tommy Bowden got outright fired.
Word I’ve read by an insider is that he and Tanner met, Tanner told him it was time to hang it up at the end of the season. Spurrier got mad and said “F-you, I quit”. Players were told thinking it was at the end of the year while Spurrier was packing it up and clearing out. All this after what was considered a normal practice schedule yesterday.

and what a great story it is considering a position coach becoming interim, then HC, and being as successful as Dabo has, is so rare.

Honestly, I had forgotten Bowden got gone mid season. Best thing that happened to CU in years. Maybe it will fall into place for the coots. However, it’s hard for me to see coots waiting a few years for a young coach to build a program. I have to think they will go after an instant winner.
