South Carolina is looking into whether defensive end Jadeveon Clowney has been in contact with agent Jay-Z, a school spokesman told NFL.com.
The South Carolina compliance office’s investigation into Clowney is “standard operating procedure,” Steve Fink assistant director of athletics for media relations, told NFL.com.
It is silly that he can’t sit down and talk with an agent and have the agent pay for lunch. But I think the concern would be using that contact as a means to “dirty” the meaning. say if a USC booster turned agent, uses that contact to help entice the player in some way.
So I say keep the rules for freshman and sophomores. After the last game as sophomore, play ball. After all the player is conducting a job interview. And one that will require plenty of personal attention. I think it is only right to allow a player to see what kind of person/agent/friend/pamperer/whatever the agent is. It will be a person that has a big influence on his life.

interesting thought here man. On a different note…do you think if these kids were able to do that it might distract the team? Maybe cause jealousy and resentment that some players get better gifts, bigger cars etc?
I’m sure there will be some of that, but it happens now. How many people are talking about any USC player beside Clowney. He won an ESPY.
Some kids will use it as distraction other as motivation.
theres to much at stake for the 2 of them to break the rules. No need for JC to hurry he is set no matter what. College coaches can recruit early so why can’t agents recruit their future income early?
The University of South Carolina Athletic Department has issued a statement declaring they have conducted a full and thorough investigation of the claim and they find nothing that violates the NCAA rules.

Time to move on.
Imagine that. Although I don’t think anything is going on, what do you expect the university’s athletic department to say. Its about like the Obama administration finding something wrong within the current executive branch.
Ahhhh, the soap opera that is the NCAA has found yet one more thing to blow out of proportion. On another note, we all know they kid has huge potential and freakish talent. I just hope for all of your sakes that A) All the fame, accolades, praise and hype don’t go to his head. Rarely do those players give it their all when they are protecting something big. And B) That no Offensive Lineman that he’s talked trash to or about the QB takes offense or has less than scrupulous intentions and does something bad, it happens.

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn’t go so far as to call a dog filthy but they’re definitely dirty. But, a dog’s got personality. Personality goes a long way.
